This teaching day will equip pharmacy staff and students with essential knowledge of malignant conditions, particularly focusing on advancements in cancer therapies, including advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), CAR-T cell therapy, bispecific antibodies, and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in haematological malignancies. Participants will learn about these cutting-edge treatments, their role in cancer care, and the pharmacist's responsibilities in ensuring safe and effective therapy. By the end of the program, participants will be able to integrate their learning into multidisciplinary cancer teams to optimise patient outcomes.

Key Learning Outcomes

1. Comprehensive Knowledge of Cancer Pharmacotherapy:
In-depth learning of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, CAR-T cell therapy, bispecific antibodies, and other targeted treatments, focusing on mechanisms, indications, and safety.

2. Understanding of ATMPs and CAR-T Therapy:
A clear overview of ATMPs, including the application of CAR-T cell therapy, its challenges, and patient outcomes.

3. Bispecific Antibodies:
Detailed information on bispecific antibodies, how they bridge cancer cells and immune cells, and their role in haematological malignancies.

4. Role of HSCT in Haematological Malignancies:
Understanding HSCT’s curative potential in cancers like leukaemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, and its place in treatment regimens.

5. Safe and Effective Drug Handling & Patient Monitoring:
How to manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and newer biological agents like CAR-T and bispecific antibodies, ensuring proper monitoring, toxicity management, and supportive care.

6. Collaboration in Multidisciplinary Oncology Teams:
Exploring pharmacists' roles in contributing to care plans, patient counselling, and ensuring therapy compliance for patients undergoing complex cancer treatments.
