April's Share & Learn Session in collaboration with the Haematology Clinical Academic Partnership, will be hosted by the highly experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologists, Sue Smith & Heather Rawle.

With over 23 years of experience in the NHS, Sue is the Clinical Lead for the Psycho-Oncology Support Team (POST) at Dimbleby Cancer Care, Guy’s and St Thomas’. She’s been instrumental in shaping cancer care support, using psychologically informed approaches to bring meaningful change to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals alike.

Heather Rawle joined the adult haematology psychology service at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in 2002 and became consultant and service lead in 2014. She has overseen the expansion of the service to provide more psychological support for adults with blood disorders, contributes to University training programmes for clinical psychology and health psychology, and chairs the British Psychological Society Special Interest Group for Psychologists working with Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia.

During this session Sue & Heather will use real experiences to dive into discussions about situations that result in people feeling helpless, scared and alone on the ward. They will discuss factors that contribute to this, and how we can support each other and ourselves in these situations.
