New website provides clinical guidance for primary care teams during the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 100 clinical resources are now available on a new website dedicated to COVID-19 clinical support. The repository has been carefully curated to provide locally relevant resources and clinical support for primary care and community teams during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The resources cover COVID-19 care and support in managing unwell patients who would normally be treated in secondary care. The site is available for healthcare teams across King’s Health Partners and beyond.

The information is based on national and local guidelines, expert consensus and is aided by clinical academic collaborations across our clinical community.

Subjects covered include:

  • suspected COVID-19 clinical pathway and resources
  • palliative care and symptom control
  • personal protection equipment (PPE)
  • respiratory
  • staff wellbeing
  • organisational changes and pathways.

The speed at which this new online resource was created represents the importance of coming together during these challenging circumstances and allowing learning to be shared within our partnership and beyond.

Nick Harris, programme manager at Clinical Effectiveness Southwark, involved in coordinating the new site commented:

This new site is a really useful enabler to think about our response to COVID-19 as a collective – across our south east London borough and beyond.
It provides a focal point to start conversations about key learnings to share with other professionals in response to the virus, and acts as a facilitator for our system to come together and share resources at a time of need.

Joe Mayhew, GP and Clinical Effectiveness Southwark clinical lead, said:

By visiting the site, south east London clinicians can be confident in getting the most up to date and relevant COVID-19 resources. It is designed to help us deliver safe and effective care in these demanding and uncertain times.

The site is continuing to develop and new materials continue to be added.

The COVID-19 clinical support website includes more than 100 resources on COVID-19 for primary care teams.
