KHP's Digital Content Manager takes us behind the scenes of producing the Mind of the Matter video series, and why she loves what she does.
What is your role within King’s Health Partners?
I’m a Digital Content Manager working to produce the Mind of the Matter series in collaboration with YouTube, King’s College London, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and of course King’s Health Partners.
Mind of the Matter is a series of films about the most searched for mental health conditions and features expert participants from across our organisations. I’ve been producing videos on the topics of alcoholism, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, self-harm, eating disorders, and depression to help inform people about these topics and provide the public with credible and reliable information.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I love learning from our experts about various mental health ailments. I have truly been enamoured and blown away by some of people I’ve spoken with - not just with their breadth of experience and knowledge but also the compassion and empathy they have for what they do. It’s inspiring to be around.
What inspired you to get into this work?
I graduated in Film and Broadcast Production which has allowed me to explore various roles and areas of production (it truly takes a village!). I love storytelling and learning from others and this role definitely allows me to do that.
What are the benefits of working in partnership?
I love the collaborative nature of the partnership, it’s so multifaceted with so many people using their talents to feed into healthcare. I take genuine joy in visiting the office and bumping into someone new and exploring what they do - I’m impressed every time!
What would be your one career top tip?
Don’t stress about the destination; if you’re working hard, learning new skills and connecting with people you’ll end up exactly where you need to be eventually, so enjoy the journey - there’s a lesson to be learned in every workplace.
