The Mind & Body Share and Learn sessions are monthly one-hour long webinars, open to staff and students from across the partnership. The event series was established to help people learn about integrated mental and physical healthcare. The webinars also aim to provide at least one piece of tangible knowledge that can support attendees to improve health outcomes for patients and communities through their own work.

The webinars involve topic updates from expert healthcare professionals and 15-minute Q&A sessions. The Q&A sessions are an opportunity for staff and students to share ideas and find out more around mind and body care. Previous webinars have included topic updates from:

  • Dr Sue Smith, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead Dimbleby Cancer Care at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust - ‘Making Sense of the Impact of Cancer’.
  • Dr Ruth Weiner, charted clinical psychologist in COPD/Cardiac community services, Oxleas NHS Trust - ‘The complexities surrounding the impact of anxiety and panic upon Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) breathlessness’.
  • Billy Young, Dual Diagnosis Practitioner, South London and Maudsley NHS FT and Jo Cavaciuti, Substance Misuse Worker, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust - ‘Opioid Overdose Awareness’

The share and learn webinars are a part of the Mind and Body Improvement Network offer. The Networks hosts the Mind & Body Champions (who are advocates for the integration of mental and physical healthcare), and offers education and training resources, example case studies, and other resources. To become a member of the Network you can register with NHS Futures. As a member you will get access to the Network's resources, and you will be able to catch up on previous Share and Learn webinars.
